    Are there more uses for radioisotopes than the ones listed in the book, and if so, what are they?

    why is it that electrons in the electron clouds are so far apart? according to the book if the nucleus of an atom is the size of a golf ball the electron on revolving around the nucleus is about a kilometer apart.... then how is it that electrons come together and bond with other elements to form new compounds if their so far apart... or am i reading that wrong...
